Your First Wax, Handled With Care
Everything you need to know before and after your appointment — straight from our Skin Therapists.
How to Prep
Let Your Hair Grow In
Hair should be about 1/4 inch long — roughly the length of a grain of rice — for the best results. Don't trim or shave before your visit.
Skip the Sun & Self-Tanner
Avoid sun exposure or tanning (including tanning beds) for at least 48 hours before waxing, and skip heavy lotions, oils, or self-tanner on appointment day.
Ease Sensitivity
Avoid alcohol or excessive caffeine before waxing, since both can increase skin sensitivity. A Tylenol about 15 minutes before your appointment can help with discomfort.
Not Sure Which Brazilian to Book?
New or returning after 8+ weeks? Book "New Client Brazilian Wax." Back within 4–7 weeks? Book "Brazilian Maintenance Wax." Enrolled in the Elite Membership? Book "Elite Member Brazilian Wax."
When Waxing Isn't Recommended
From our published waxing contraindications & precautions guide.
Please Don't Book If You Have
- Sunburn, open wounds, cuts, or bruises in the waxing area
- A chemical peel, microdermabrasion, or aggressive exfoliation in the area within the past 7 days
- An active breakout, rash, or skin infection in the area to be waxed
- Laser treatments, Botox, or fillers in the waxing area within the last 7 days
Check With Your Doctor First If Using
- Accutane (Isotretinoin) — must be off for at least 6 months before waxing
- Retin-A, Differin, Tazorac, or other prescription-strength retinoids
- Antibiotics that cause sun sensitivity, steroids, or blood thinners
- Chemical peels, Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydroquinone, AHA/BHA, or retinol-based creams
If you are pregnant and new to waxing, please consult your doctor first — skin can be more sensitive due to hormones. This information is educational and not medical advice; when in doubt, check with your doctor before booking.
Aftercare & Ingrown Prevention
The Aftercare Basics
Aftercare is the most important part of waxing outside of your maintenance visits. Exfoliate your skin, stay hydrated, and keep the area moisturized — this ensures less ingrown hairs and a more productive hair growth cycle.
Ingrown-Prevention Add-Ons
Ask about our High Frequency treatment (helps reduce redness, inflammation, and prevent ingrown hairs — not suitable for those with heart palpitations or pregnancy), the Hydrojelly Mask, or a Mini Saditty Vajacial for ingrown-prone skin.
Periods, Pregnancy & Pain
Pain tolerance differs for everyone — we can't know how it will feel for you until you try it. Taking a Tylenol 15 minutes prior to your appointment can help with your pain level.
Absolutely. For pregnancy, we offer a wedge to lift you comfortably on the table. For periods, it's totally fine to get waxed — we just ask that you use a fresh tampon or menstrual cup. In both cases, skin is more sensitive due to hormones, so Tylenol beforehand is advised.
A bikini line wax removes only the hair visible outside a bikini swimsuit, up to the beginning of the inner thigh. A Brazilian wax removes all hair from the vagina area and bum strip.
Yes — we currently offer man Brazilian waxing.
